Cherry Blossom in Japan

Cherry Blossoms
Cherry Blossom in Maruyama Park, Kyoto
March 26-April 1--Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Japan--This year's Cherry Blossoms were viewed and photographed in Japan during peak bloom.  Cherry trees are deeply rooted in Japanese culture and philosophy.

The blooming cycle reminds us to appreciate the beauty and the understanding that all things are transient. In Japan this is known as "Mono no Aware"

The admiration of cherry blossoms during hanami, (flower viewing) reminds us the importance of living in harmony with nature, to appreciate its rhythm and cycles.

In Kyoto
The tradition of gathering under cherry trees is to foster unity, friendship and sharing experiences.

The blossoms reflect the Japanese's notion of symplicity and elegance within society and art, especially in design and architecture.

The Japanese reverence for cherry trees and their blossoms serves to remind us the connection between our love of nature, the importance of our relationships and to cherish our time.
