A couple days before peak bloom. Early morning 6:44am |
March 23--Tidal Basin, Washington, DC--The annual
cherry blossoms in Washington, DC. Every year, peak bloom varies. It all depends upon the weather. If it is warm and sunny consistently, the blossoms bloom. If it's cold, they don't bloom until it is warm. Once they bloom, the blossoms can last a couple days or two weeks. Once again, depending upon weather, heavy rain and cold can blow the blossoms away.
