April 22, 2015—Washington, DC—One great privilege as a photographer is the meeting of extraordinary people.  Dr. Norman C. Francis is such a person.  The past president of Xavier University in New Orleans, he led the institution for 47 years.  His leadership provided many opportunities for students and the people of New Orleans.  He is a leader in education and in 2006 he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

On this date a reception was held in the residence of Senator Mary L. Landrieu to honor his service.  To learn more about his legacy: www.francislegacy.com

(Sometimes you have no choice, you can’t change positions nor can you get a better angle.  Just wish I could have moved that plant.  I still like this moment.)

San Francisco

April 04, 2015—San Francisco—It is not often that a day is spent just wandering around with a camera and finding images.  But an extra day was built into a business trip to do such an adventure.  Luckily the weather was perfect and the location picturesque.  Three the Japanese Tea Garden, Chinatown, and TransAmerica Pyramid provided great photo opportunities.
